OLXVMAN 1.1, Linux Version. March, 26th 1995
This is the Linux version of OLXVman, a nice xview man page browser. This
program comes with no warranty (It works fine for me but I am not
responsible should you trash your filesystem because of it). All that was
modified from the original version was "src/Makefile", "src/defs.h",
"src/version.h". It was compiled with the "-O2 -m486" flags for code
optimization. If you want to recompile it yourself, just do a "make
linux" in the src sub-directory. OLXVman is a little slower than xman and
offers less features but for what i am doing with it, i like it better and
you may too. An XFfree 3.1+ executable is provided with this package. You
will have to recompile if you use Xfree 2.x or lower. You must have the
xview libs (disks xv1, xv2, xv3 in the slackware distribution - as of
slackware 2.1 )
To re-compile OLXVman:
1) Modify the Makefile to your liking even if this should not be
necessary.
2) Do a "make linux" in the "src" sub-directory. Make will start by
building the two "libguide*" libraries (in "guide" and "guide/libguide"
) and will then compile olxvman.
Warning: YOU _MUST_ have the xview libs installed or it will not
compile/run.
To install OLXVman:
1) Copy/link the executable ("src/olxvman") to /usr/openwin/bin .
2) Copy/link the man page ("src/olxvman.man") to /usr/man/man1 .
3) Copy/link the info page ("src/olxvman.info") to /usr/openwin/lib/help .
(This step is not necessary).
Have fun.
I would be interested in getting bug reports but I am no code maintainer
so I will not be able to do much with bug reports (i.e fix the code) and I
don't have any info on who first made this code.
